React Native Developer (Contract)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced React Native Developer for a contract engagement to build and enhance our mobile application. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of proven experience developing React Native applications that consume external APIs, with specific expertise in integrating with Python Flask backends. This role requires strong API integration skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with backend development teams.

Role Type & Compensation

  • Position: Contract Engagement
  • Duration: Project-based (with potential for extension)
  • Compensation: Up to #350,000 for the complete development scope
  • Location: Remote (with periodic sync meetings)

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native
  • Consume and integrate with Python Flask RESTful APIs
  • Implement clean, efficient, and reusable components
  • Ensure optimal application performance, quality, and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with backend developers to define API contracts and specifications
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the mobile stack

API Integration:

  • Implement secure authentication flows (JWT/OAuth)
  • Handle API request/response lifecycle with proper error handling
  • Manage application state efficiently (Redux/MobX/Context API)
  • Implement offline capabilities and data synchronization
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for API interactions

Technical Requirements

Mandatory Skills (2+ Years Experience):

  • React Native: Proven experience building production mobile applications
  • API Integration: Extensive experience consuming third-party APIs and RESTful services
  • JavaScript/TypeScript: Strong proficiency with modern ES6+ features
  • State Management: Redux, MobX, or Context API with demonstrated patterns
  • Python Flask API Understanding: Experience working specifically with Flask-based backends
  • Tools: Git, npm/yarn, Metro bundler, debugging tools

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger/Postman)
  • Knowledge of mobile app deployment (App Store/Google Play)
  • Familiarity with Python (ability to understand backend code structure)
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Detox)
  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and responsive design

Project-Specific Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills for remote collaboration
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Portfolio of completed React Native applications with API integration
  • Proven ability to estimate tasks and deliver within timelines

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with native module development (iOS/Android)
  • Knowledge of GraphQL integration
  • Background in financial or payment processing applications
  • CI/CD pipeline setup for mobile applications
