About the Role
We are seeking a Security Analyst to support security assessments and compliance-focused engagements for commercial organizations across multiple industries. This role is execution-oriented and supports senior security engineers and architects by handling scanning, evidence collection, and initial reporting.

This is a remote, contract-based role, ideal for early-career cybersecurity professionals who are detail-oriented and comfortable working with structured processes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Run automated security and vulnerability scans using tools such as Nessus, Burp Suite, and OpenVAS


• Review and validate scan results to reduce false positives ("de-noising")


• Collect and document audit evidence (screenshots, configuration outputs, access settings)


• Maintain clear and organized evidence repositories for GRC and audit purposes


• Draft initial security findings and assessment reports for senior review


• Track remediation progress and update findings status


• Follow defined testing and documentation procedures across client engagements


• Support compliance assessments (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, etc.)

Required Qualifications

• Foundational experience in cybersecurity, IT, or risk/compliance roles


• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and security assessment concepts


• Basic understanding of common security misconfigurations and risks


• Ability to follow structured testing and documentation processes


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Ability to work independently in a remote, contract-based environment

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, OpenVAS; Burp Suite awareness)


• Understanding of vulnerability severity, false positives, and risk context


• Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, and cloud environments


• Screenshot-based evidence collection and documentation


• Report writing and structured findings documentation


• Familiarity with spreadsheets, ticketing systems, and documentation tools

Nice to Have

• Exposure to GRC or audit-based security assessments


• Awareness of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS)


• Entry-level security certifications (Security+, CEH, AWS Cloud Practitioner)


• Lab, internship, or junior role experience in security or IT


• Basic scripting or automation exposure
