We are seeking a seasoned MEP Lead with proven experience managing complex, large-scale hospitality or mixed-use projects from the ground up. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who thrives in dynamic site environments and is relentless about quality, precision, and execution excellence.

About the Role

The MEP Lead will take full ownership of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and ELV systems from first fix to commissioning. This role requires a high-calibre professional who combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership, coordination, and documentation discipline.

Minimum Experience Requirement (Non-Negotiable)

We are specifically looking for candidates who meet the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related discipline)
• 10+ years of hands-on MEP engineering experience
• At least 2 completed large-scale hospitality projects (hotel, resort, etc)
• Prior leadership exposure as MEP Lead / MEP Manager / Project MEP Head on site
• Demonstrated experience leading direct labour or execution teams (not only subcontractor supervision)
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, fire protection, electrical distribution, ELV, plumbing and drainage, and energy management system.
• Proven experience working with international hotel brands (e.g., Radisson, Hilton, Marriott, ccor) or Tier-1 construction firms is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IEC) and local regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience managing direct labour or self-executed MEP installations (not just subcontractor oversight).
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Certification in QA/QC Management, Project Management, or MEP Engineering is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Oversight of MEP Works:

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day execution of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and ELV systems on site, from first fix through second fix and commissioning. Ensure installations strictly follow approved drawings, specifications, and international standards.

Hands-On Leadership:

• Lead execution on site, working closely with supervisors, foremen and technicians. Provide technical guidance, resolve issues in real time, and ensure that workmanship meets the required quality benchmarks.

Workforce Coordination:

• Manage and allocate tasks to MEP supervisors and site teams, ensuring optimal productivity. Monitor manpower levels, skill deployment, and sequencing of activities to avoid delays or rework.

Integration with Other Trades:

• Coordinate MEP activities with civil, structural, and architectural works to prevent clashes. Ensure that MEP installations are properly sequenced with finishes, joinery, and façade works to maintain program integrity.

Progress Monitoring:

• Track daily and weekly progress against the project schedule. Identify slippages early, implement recovery plans, and escalate critical risks to the Project Manager. Maintain accurate records of completed works.

Quality Assurance in Execution:

• Conduct systematic inspections of ongoing works, checking alignment, levels, tolerances, and compliance with approved shop drawings. Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) where necessary and follow up on corrective actions until closure.

Testing & Pre-Commissioning Supervision:

• Oversee all required tests during execution (e.g., pressure tests, insulation resistance, duct leakage, continuity checks). Ensure results are properly documented, witnessed, and approved before works are concealed or advanced.

Material & Equipment Verification:

• Support the procurement team with MEP material selection, technical submittals, and vendor evaluation. Confirm that all materials and equipment delivered to site are approved, stored correctly, and installed as per manufacturer's recommendations. Reject and document any non-compliant materials.

Safety Enforcement:

• Ensure that all MEP works are executed in compliance with HSE standards. Verify that workers are properly kitted with PPE, scaffolding and ladders are safe, and hot works or confined space activities follow permit-to-work systems.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain daily site diaries, inspection checklists, and photographic records of works. Submit weekly execution reports highlighting progress, issues, risks, and corrective actions. Ensure traceability of all inspections and approvals.

Proactive Problem-Solving:

• Anticipate potential clashes, delays, or quality issues before they occur. Propose practical solutions, coordinate with consultants and designers, and implement preventive measures to keep execution on track.
