Company Description

Our Way Forward Ltd (OWF) is a strategy and engagement advisory firm that helps governments and businesses in Africa tackle complex economic, policy, and reputational challenges. We support leading public and private sector institutions, helping them navigate evolving political-economy, investment, and stakeholder environments.

Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Public Affairs and Government Relations practice. This role requires a sharp, curious, and politically attuned thinker who keeps the firm and its clients ahead of key developments in policy, governance, and public sentiment. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy and blend research rigour, political insight, and communication skill to inform strategies that shape national and corporate agendas.

Work Base

This role will be split between Lagos and Abuja, with travel between both cities as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse government policies, legislative developments, and political-economic trends across Nigeria and key global markets.
  • Track and map influential stakeholders across media, government, development and business.
  • Design and implement research, insight, and issues-tracking programmes using OWF's proprietary intelligence platform.
  • Produce concise, data-driven reports, briefing notes, and talking points for senior decision-makers.
  • Draft stakeholder engagement frameworks, key messaging materials, and policy summaries.
  • Curate and maintain structured repositories of stakeholder data, directories, and insights to strengthen institutional knowledge.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to developing OWF's proprietary intelligence platform.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 4–6 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, policy advisory, or strategic communications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Nigeria's political landscape and institutional dynamics.
  • Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis tools, AI tools and online research platforms.

Attributes

  • Intellectually curious and analytically sharp – a natural "question asker."
  • Solutions-focused
  • Politically aware with sound judgment and situational sensitivity.
  • Highly organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative, confident, and committed to high professional standards.

Growth Path

This role offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership position, leading a small team of analysts and contributing to the development of a broader Public Affairs and Government Relations division.
