ZOA is active in insecure and volatile regions: serving Syrian refugees in the Middle East, uprooted people in war-torn South Sudan, displaced Yezidis in Northern Iraq and South Sudanese refugees in Ethiopia, to name a few.ZOA started operations in Nigeria December 2016, supporting IDPs and returnees of Boko Haram affected states. Continuously promoting community governance, inclusion, peace, and stability in these fragmented and traumatized communities is a challenging but essential part of ZOA's programme.ZOA currently has full team in Borno State, responding to the critical needs in Food Security and livelihood and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Education as well.We Are Recruiting To Fill The Position BelowJob Title: EMAP OfficerLocation: Bama LGA, BornoEmployment Type: Full-timeMain Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvide overall technical leadership and coordination for the implementation of the Engaging Men through Accountable Practice (EMAP) approach to prevent GBV and advance gender equality.Lead the adaptation, contextualization, and quality assurance of EMAP curriculum and tools in collaboration with program teams and donor partner.Conduct and oversee baseline assessments, community mappings, and context analyses to inform EMAP programming, track entry-level attitudes, and measure behavior change over time.Plan, oversee, and support structured EMAP sessions, ensuring fidelity to the methodology and alignment with program objectives.Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and capacity building for EMAP Assistant, field Volunteers, and local leaders to strengthen facilitation skills and accountability practices.Establish and maintain partnerships with community structures (LPCs, peace clubs, youth groups, religious leaders), government stakeholders, and civil society actors to scale EMAP and integrate it into broader peacebuilding and protection interventions.Facilitate joint reflection, dialogue forums, and mediation initiatives informed by EMAP principles to foster positive masculinity, peaceful coexistence, and respect for women and girls.Ensure integration of Gender Equality, Social Inclusion (GESI), GBV prevention, and protection principles across all EMAP activities.Lead in organizing community-level campaigns, cultural activities, and advocacy events that challenge harmful gender norms and promote social cohesion.Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) processes by supervising attendance tracking, behavior change monitoring, feedback systems, and documenting lessons learned.Produce high-quality reports, success stories, and evidence-based recommendations for program improvement and donor submissions.Uphold safeguarding, accountability, and Do No Harm principles in all activities.Qualifications And ExperienceBachelor's Degree (or higher) in Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Peacebuilding, Development Studies, or related field.4 – 5 years of progressive experience in male engagement, gender-transformative programming, GBV prevention, or peacebuilding.Demonstrated expertise in the EMAP approach or other structured behavior change models targeting male participants.Proven experience in training, coaching, and supervising staff or community facilitators on sensitive topics related to gender and protection.Strong leadership, coordination, and partnership-building skills, including experience working with local authorities, CSOs, and traditional leaders.In-depth understanding of gender equality, GBV, GESI, peacebuilding, and protection frameworks.Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate sensitive dialogues with male participants.Experience in project reporting, M&E, and documentation of lessons learned.Fluency in English and local languages (e.g., Hausa, Kanuri) with strong cultural sensitivity.Commitment to safeguarding, accountability, and inclusion.Application Closing Date22nd October, 2025.Don't Keep Kindly Share:
