As they continue to expand their portfolio, they are seeking an experienced
Credit Analyst
to join their team. This role is crucial for driving sound credit decisions, managing risk, and ensuring the continued health of their lending operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in SME credit to make a significant impact in a thriving and supportive environment. The role is based in Lagos.

  • Please describe your hands-on experience with LPO financing and invoice discounting. What was the typical size of the deals you assessed?

  • Can you provide an example of a complex credit recommendation you prepared? What was the situation, and what was the outcome?
  • This role is full-time and based in Lagos. Can you confirm your availability to work from the office?
  • What are your monthly net salary expectations, and what is your current notice period?

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate credit applications with a primary focus on LPO financing and invoice discounting facilities.
  • Conduct thorough risk analysis of applicants by assessing financial statements, bank records, and other relevant data.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence, including the validation of crucial documents like purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive credit reports and recommendations to the credit committee or management.
  • Monitor the performance of the existing loan portfolio to identify early warning signs of potential defaults.
  • Collaborate with the collections team on recovery processes for non-performing loans.
  • Ensure that all credit activities comply with the company's internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Credit Analyst, ideally within a lending institution.
  • Mandatory: Demonstrable, in-depth experience in structuring and assessing LPO financing and invoice discounting deals.
  • Strong financial analysis, modelling, and credit reporting skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIBN) are a significant advantage.
