Job Title: Field Verification Officer
Department: Operations / Risk & Compliance

Job Summary:
The Field Verification Officer is responsible for conducting physical verification of customers, guarantors, and business premises to validate information provided during onboarding, loan application, or merchant registration. The role ensures that all verifications are accurately completed in line with company policies and regulatory standards to mitigate risks and support sound decision-making within the fintech's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site verification of customer information, including residential, business, and guarantor addresses.
• Validate the authenticity of documents such as ID cards, utility bills, business registrations, and guarantor forms.
• Capture and upload geotagged photos, field reports, and coordinates using the company's mobile app or verification tool.
• Interview customers, neighbors, or guarantors to confirm the accuracy of submitted information.
• Provide timely and accurate reports to the Verification/Compliance team for review and processing.
• Escalate suspicious activities, fraud indicators, or inconsistencies to the Risk and Compliance Unit.
• Ensure adherence to data protection and confidentiality policies when handling customer information.
• Collaborate with other internal teams (Sales, Operations, Risk) to ensure smooth onboarding and verification flow.
• Meet assigned daily and weekly verification targets and maintain high-quality reporting standards.
Requirements:
• Minimum of HND / B.Sc. in any discipline and must have completed NYSC
• 1–3 years of experience in field verification, customer service, KYC, or field operations, preferably in a Fintech, Microfinance, or Financial Services environment.
• Good understanding of KYC (Know Your Customer) and CDD (Customer Due Diligence) processes.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and investigative skills.
• Ability to work with mobile apps, GPS tools, and digital reporting systems.
• Must be detail-oriented, trustworthy, and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a smartphone and valid means of identification.
• Willingness to travel frequently within assigned locations.
