Job Title: Equities Trading Officer (Asset Management)

Location: Lagos & Abuja

Job Summary:

Drive profitability by leading the company's equities trading functions. Identify and evaluate investment opportunities, develop trading strategies, and ensure compliance with regulations while maximizing income and profitability through the Fixed Income and Equities Trading Desks.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Trade Functions: Analyze market trends, generate trade ideas, and assess risks.

Trade Execution: Execute trades on NGX, ensuring best execution and timely settlement.

Post-Trade Functions: Confirm trades, reconcile positions, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Client Service: Manage client orders, provide market updates, and build strong relationships.

Risk & Compliance: Monitor risks, adhere to NGX/SEC rules, and maintain internal controls.

Technology: Oversee trading platforms, market data, and IT infrastructure for stability.

KPIs & Deliverables:

Financial Targets:

Sales (Non-Core): ₦1 billion (20% appraisal).

Income & Profitability (Core): Generate ≥₦100 million in trading income (70% appraisal).

Surpass benchmark returns on funds by 2.5%.

Non-Financial Targets:

Process trades within 24 hours; complete tasks within deadlines.

Submit monthly/quarterly reports on time.

Prepare Investment Manual within 30 days of resumption.

Ensure portfolio compliance (≤3 violations per quarter).

Conduct continuous team training.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACA, ACCA) preferred.

Minimum 5 years' experience, including 4 years in a leadership role.

Strong knowledge of financial markets, trading, and risk management.

Excellent analytical, communication, and networking skills.
