DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE Lead, Operational SafetyREPORTS TO Manager, Safety CapabilityDEPARTMENT CASHESJOB PURPOSE Provide Operational and personal safety leadership to achieve Goal Zero. Support the implementation of sector HSE Case operationalization and assurance.Other duties reasonably related to the performance of the jobCoordinate the embedding of 'Everyone is a Safety Officer' mindset within the sector.Coordinate operational and personal safety governance, implementation and assurance activities.Review, plan, monitor, implement and manage interfaces with Technical, Engineering and Production functions and provide independent support for operational and personal safety compliance activities. Share best industry practices in personal, process and technical safety.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESProvide support for operational and personal safety related HSE control framework governance, implementation, empowerment and assurance.Review and communicate personal and operational safety performance (leading & lagging) indicators in a consistent manner across all functions.Review and report risk assessments and suggest improvementsProvide support for implementation of applicable Industry safety (operational and personal) safety standards. Participate/lead operational and personal safety related incident investigations across the company.Coordinate HSE transformation including HSE Culture transformation, safety leadership, Hearts & Minds and Behavioral Safety Management.Promote Sustainable Safety Behaviour/Safety Awareness through dedicated safety campaigns, safety Newsletters and facilitation of the Hearts & Minds workshops.JOB CONTEXT & KEY CHALLENGESInfluence - provides services and be able to influence and get organizational buy in without authority.Drive operational and personal safety leadership across the organization.Deliver value through standardisation and consistent implementation of risk managementDIMENSIONS (METRICS)Direct reports – NA.Supports projects circa USD 10 million and asset integrity for circa > 50 kbbl/dJOB COMPETENCES – SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & BEHAVIOURBroad knowledge of oil and gas business. In-depth knowledge of the relevant IOGP standards.Skilled in Project management techniques, including business planning and evaluation Good knowledge of production operations across the entire process and value chain.Understand all elements of personal and operational safety e.g., working at height, lifting and hoisting, excavation, confined space entry work, tank cleaning, electrical, LOTO, business event, etc. In depth knowledge of Nigerian safety laws, regulations and permits, and the people.Strong focus on Interpersonal, influencing, communication and management of change skills.Passion, drive and commitment for HSE performance excellenceUpwards Leadership engagement.KEY INTERFACES/RELATIONSHIPSInternal External EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEngineering or Science degree RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT8 – 12 years relevant experience
