Experience:
3 – 5 years' experience in geotechnical or engineering geology (preferably in infrastructure/construction).

Qualification:
BSc/MSc in Geology, Applied Geology, or Geosciences.

Job Summary
The Geologist will support both field and office operations by conducting site investigations, analysing geological data, and preparing technical reports for design and construction teams. This role ensures accurate subsurface information is collected, interpreted, and applied throughout project planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and supervise drilling, sampling, and geotechnical field investigations.
  • Log boreholes, prepare geological maps, and monitor ground conditions during construction.
  • Review and interpret field and laboratory test data for soil and rock characterization.
  • Prepare geological and geotechnical reports with foundation and design recommendations.
  • Maintain geotechnical databases and ensure data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to integrate geological input into designs.
  • Assess and propose mitigation for geological risks such as erosion or slope instability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of site investigation methods, soil and rock mechanics, and report preparation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and geotechnical software (e.g., GEO5, Rocscience, or GeoStudio).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Membership with COMEG, NMGS, or similar body is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel and work under diverse field conditions.
