Job Title:
TAX ACCOUNTANT

Location:
Lekki Lagos

Experience required:
Minimum of 7 years experience in the Oil and Gas Construction and servicing company.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for managing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and optimizing the company's tax

position.

  1. Tax Compliance and Reporting

Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns.

Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations specific to the oil and gas sector.

Manage tax audits and coordinate with tax authorities.

  1. Financial Record Keeping

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation for all tax-related transactions.

Reconcile tax accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.

  1. Tax Planning and Strategy

Develop tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.

Advise management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.

  1. Regulatory Updates

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the construction and oil and gas industries.

Implement necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance.

  1. Collaboration

Work closely with other departments, such as finance and legal, to gather necessary information for tax filings.

Coordinate with external auditors and consultants as needed.

SKILLS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a similar industry field
  • Familiar with industry-specific tax issues and regulations.
