The Legal Adviser provides expert legal guidance to the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role involves reviewing contracts, handling legal disputes, advising management on risks, and safeguarding the organization's legal interests.

Key Responsibilities1. Legal Advisory & Compliance

  • Provide timely legal advice to management on business decisions, policies, and operational matters.
  • Ensure the organization complies with statutory obligations, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise leadership on necessary adjustments.

2. Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, MOUs, and legal documents.
  • Ensure all contracts protect the company's interests and minimize legal risks.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all contractual and legal records.

3. Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support

  • Manage legal disputes, claims, and inquiries involving the organisation.
  • Liaise with external lawyers and regulatory agencies when necessary.
  • Prepare legal briefs, reports, and litigation documentation.

4. Risk Management

  • Identify potential legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support internal audits and compliance checks.
  • Develop policies and procedures that enhance legal protection and operational integrity.

5. Corporate Governance

  • Assist with board meetings, resolutions, and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure the organisation's operations align with corporate governance best practices.
  • Draft internal policies and review existing ones for consistency with the law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB); BL and call to bar certification required.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years experience as a Legal Adviser, Corporate Counsel, or related role.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and make sound legal judgments.

  • Ability to provide clear legal interpretation and advice.
  • Proficiency in report writing and legal drafting.
