Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate Volunteer Community Manager to help nurture, engage, and support our growing community. You will play a key role in fostering meaningful interactions, building relationships, and ensuring members feel welcomed, informed, and supported.

This role is unpaid and fully volunteer-based, contributing directly to Ascend's mission of providing accessible tech education across Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and engage with members across our social platforms (WhatsApp, Discord, Telegram, or others).
  • Welcome new members and ensure they settle quickly into the community.
  • Coordinate weekly community updates, announcements, and reminders.
  • Assist in organizing online events, sessions, and workshops.
  • Monitor community conversations to ensure a positive, respectful environment.
  • Gather feedback from members to help improve Ascend's programs.
  • Support community campaigns, challenges, and engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with tutors, speakers, and the core team to maintain smooth community operations.
