Job Description: Hotel Chef (Day-On/Day-Off Schedule)

Position Overview

The Hotel Chef is responsible for managing the hotel's kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation, and service in our hotel. This role combines culinary expertise with leadership, while offering a balanced day-on/day-off work schedule to promote efficiency, creativity, and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development & Innovation
  • Create and update menus for restaurants, banquets, and room service.
  • Incorporate seasonal and local ingredients to enhance guest experiences.
  • Food Preparation & Standards
  • Supervise and participate in cooking to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Team Leadership & Scheduling
  • Lead and train kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
  • Organize kitchen workflow to align with the day-on/day-off schedule, ensuring coverage and smooth operations.
  • Inventory & Cost Control
  • Monitor food costs, portion sizes, and minimize waste.
  • Oversee purchasing, storage, and stock rotation.
  • Guest Service & Collaboration
  • Work closely with hotel management to align culinary offerings with guest expectations.
  • Handle special dietary requests and personalized dining experiences.

Work Schedule

  • Day-On/Day-Off Rotation: Chef works one full day, followed by one day off.
  • Schedule ensures balanced workload, consistent kitchen coverage, and time for rest and creativity.
  • Flexibility required during peak seasons, special events, or emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
  • Proven experience as a Chef in hotels or fine-dining establishments.
  • Strong knowledge of international cuisines and modern culinary trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Certification in food safety and hygiene.

Career Path

This role can lead to advancement as Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Director, or Culinary Consultant, depending on performance and career goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₦100,000.00 per month
