Role Overview

The Marketing Specialist will be a
strategic, commercial, and data-driven leader
responsible for designing and executing an end-to-end marketing strategy that drives revenue growth, expands market share, and strengthens the firm's 50-year legacy brand.

This role requires someone with
deep experience marketing regulated financial products
in the Nigerian market, combining traditional financial marketing discipline with modern digital and analytics-led approaches.

Key Responsibilities1. Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement a holistic, data-driven marketing strategy aligned with the firm's long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, high performance, and compliance.
  • Partner with the CEO/MD and executive leadership to ensure marketing efforts directly support sales and revenue targets across all business lines (brokerage, asset management, advisory).
  • Manage the annual marketing budget and ensure optimal ROI on all marketing initiatives.

2. Product Marketing & Sales Enablement

  • Understand and clearly articulate the Customer Value Proposition (CVP) for core financial products (equities, fixed income, mutual funds, corporate finance offerings).
  • Develop high-impact sales enablement tools (pitch decks, presentations, case studies, training materials) to support Sales and Business Development teams.
  • Lead market research to identify new customer segments, emerging trends, and competitor activities to guide product development and market-entry strategies.
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives to position the firm as a respected expert in the Nigerian capital market.

3. Brand Management & Communications

  • Custodian of the firm's legacy brand—ensuring consistency, compliance, and a strong corporate reputation across all communication channels.
  • Oversee Public Relations (PR) and corporate communications, manage media relationships, and serve as an internal spokesperson when required.
  • Develop and manage crisis communication strategies in collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams.

4. Digital & Performance Marketing

  • Lead the digital transformation of the firm's marketing efforts, including website development, SEO/SEM, social media, and email marketing—all within regulatory guidelines.
  • Design and manage digital lead-generation campaigns targeted at HNIs, Institutional, and Retail clients.
  • Use CRM and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track campaign performance, conversion rates, and customer behavior—providing insights to leadership for decision-making.

5. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all SEC, NGX, and other regulatory guidelines governing marketing, advertising, and public communications.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal and Compliance to review and approve all external-facing materials before publication.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 2–5+ years
    of progressive marketing experience, including marketing leadership responsibilities.
  • Mandatory:
    Proven experience in financial services (Broker-Dealer, Investment Bank, Asset Management, or Commercial Bank) with demonstrated success marketing and selling regulated financial products to HNI, Retail, and Institutional clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • An MBA or professional certification (CIM, SEC-sponsored individual status) is a strong advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian capital market and regulatory environment.
  • Competence in digital marketing, lead generation, and marketing automation (CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
