Role Description

The
Senior Accountant
is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting operations of The Imoniyame Holdings Ltd Factory. This role involves preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supervising junior Accountants, and supporting management with strategic financial insights. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting decision-making through detailed analysis and reporting.

: Role is for both Lagos and Delta. Positions will be filled in both locations.

Key Responsibilities :

·      Oversee and review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance.

·      Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and management reports.

·      Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial records.

·      Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

·      Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

·      Support audits by providing required financial documentation and explanations.

·      Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

·      Assist in financial forecasting, cost control, and performance analysis.

·      Develop and implement accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

·      Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies when necessary.

Requirements and Skills:

·      Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·      Professional certification such as
ICAN
,
ACCA
, or
CPA
(preferred).

·      Minimum of
5 years of relevant accounting experience
, with at least
2 years in a senior or supervisory role
.

·      Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax laws.

·      Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage, or ERP systems).

·      Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

·      Strong ability to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate financial data.

·      High attention to detail and accuracy.

·      Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

·      Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

·      Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

·      Experience in audit support by preparing relevant documents and coordinating with auditors.
