Role Description

We are seeking experienced and dynamic
Senior TV Reporters
with strong storytelling and writing skills to join our Abuja news team. The ideal candidates must have
at least 3 years of professional experience in television journalism
, with a proven ability to source, research, write, and present compelling news reports for broadcast.

The Senior TV Reporter will be responsible for producing timely, accurate, and engaging stories that align with the station's editorial standards and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and report on news stories across a variety of beats, including housing, politics, business, society, and current affairs.
  • Write clear, accurate, and engaging scripts for television broadcast.
  • Conduct on-camera interviews and deliver live or recorded reports from the field.
  • Pitch and generate original story ideas relevant to the Abuja and national audience.
  • Collaborate with producers, editors, and camera crews to deliver high-quality video reports.
  • Verify information, maintain journalistic integrity, and ensure accuracy in all reports.
  • Meet deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
  • Uphold the organization's editorial policies and ethical journalism standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of
    3 years of professional experience
    as a TV reporter or correspondent.
  • Strong writing and script-editing skills (must demonstrate ability to write broadcast-quality reports).
  • Excellent on-camera presence and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of current affairs, political and social issues, especially within Nigeria.
  • Proficiency in news gathering, field reporting, and storytelling techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be
    based in Abuja
    or willing to work full-time in Abuja.
