About the Client
Our client, a faith-based organization with multiple ongoing building, renovation, and community-driven infrastructural projects, seeks a Project / Operation Assistant Manager to support the planning, execution, and supervision of site operations. The role involves coordinating project designs, approvals, costing, procurement, and facility management while ensuring that all properties and environments are maintained to high standards of excellence and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Assist in conceptualizing and managing building, renovation, and environmental design projects from idea stage through completion.
- Coordinate drawings, design reviews, approval and permit processes, and ensure accurate project costing and cost control.
- Monitor project timelines, quality standards, and contractor deliverables.
Procurement & Workforce Coordination
- Oversee procurement activities, including sourcing materials, contractors, artisans, and site workers.
- Supervise on-site teams and ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
- Negotiate vendor terms, manage purchase processes, and ensure value-for-money outcomes.
Site & Facility Management
- Manage site operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities during project execution.
- Maintain existing properties, facilities, and their surrounding environments.
- Handle furnishing, repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance across ministry locations.
Operational Support
- Provide supervision and coordination for environment and operations personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, organizational standards, and stewardship principles.
- Support reporting activities, documentation, and follow-up on action items related to projects and facility upkeep.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Project Management, or related fields.
- Experience supporting or managing building, renovation, or facility operations projects.
- Strong organizational, technical, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication, vendor management, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage budgets, supervise teams, and work under tight timelines.
- High sense of accountability, discipline, and attention to detail.
