Role Purpose

The Loan & Debt Recovery Officer is responsible for managing overdue accounts, following up on delinquent loans, and ensuring prompt repayment. The role minimizes bad debt exposure, improves cash flow, and maintains client relationships while enforcing company credit policies.

Key Responsibilities

1.     Monitor and track overdue accounts and loans.

2.     Contact clients through calls, emails, or visits to follow up on repayments.

3.     Negotiate repayment schedules and settlements with defaulting clients.

4.     Maintain accurate records of all recovery efforts and client communication.

5.     Collaborate with the credit and legal team for escalation of default cases.

6.     Prepare recovery reports and updates for management review.

7.     Recommend legal action for chronic defaulters where necessary.

8.     Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

·       Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.

· –4 years' experience in loan recovery, collections, or financial services.

Skills & Competencies

·       Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.

·       Knowledge of debt recovery laws and credit risk management.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       High resilience and ability to work under pressure.

·       Strong analytical and record-keeping skills.
