Role Overview

BT Go Global is expanding rapidly and seeking to recruit motivated and knowledgeable Student Counsellors on a zero-hour contract basis. This flexible, part-time role is based remotely in the UK and offers the opportunity to work flexibly, balancing work with other commitments.

As a Student Counsellor, your primary responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and support to prospective African students throughout their recruitment journey. You will play a key role in helping students make informed decisions about studying overseas, supporting them in the application and visa processes, and collaborating with our Nigerian office to meet recruitment goals.

Key Responsibilities

·     Provide professional advice and counselling to prospective students from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa.

·     Assist students with selecting suitable courses, universities, and countries that align with their academic goals and aspirations.

·     Guide students through application processes, ensuring documentation and requirements are complete and accurate.

·     Support students with UK visa application advice and liaise with the British Council as necessary.

·     Maintain regular communication with students via email, phone, and video calls to provide updates and respond to enquiries.

·     Collaborate closely with BT Go Global team to align recruitment strategies and targets.

·     Keep abreast of changes and trends in global education markets, particularly the UK, and share relevant insights.

·     Maintain accurate records of communications, applications, and progress in company CRM systems.

·     Participate in online training and team meetings as required.

Person Specification

Strong knowledge of UK and international higher education systems and student visa procedures.

Experience in student recruitment, counselling, or education consultancy preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with students from diverse African backgrounds.

Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Comfortable using digital communication tools (Zoom, Skype, email) and CRM software.

Flexible availability to accommodate student meetings and recruitment deadlines.

Based in the UK with legal right to work and access to reliable internet and IT setup.

Passionate about education and supporting student success globally.

Contract Details

Zero hour contract with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.

Flexible part-time hours to be agreed based on student demand and consultant availability.

Competitive hourly rate payable monthly.
