Location: Kurudu, FCT - Abuja.

Izinga Foods & Confectionery, makers of the premium Izinga Kilishi (beef jerky) and a rapidly expanding entity in the food manufacturing and distribution sector, is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Certified Accountant to join our Head Office finance team. This role is critical for maintaining our financial integrity, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and ensuring strict fiscal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of financial accounting, reporting and book keeping, including:

  • Financial Reporting: Preparation and presentation of accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in full compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Leading the annual budgeting cycle, providing insightful variance analysis, and developing forward-looking financial forecasts.
  • Audit and Compliance: Ensuring rigorous adherence to all statutory and tax regulations, managing internal controls, and serving as the primary liaison for external financial audits.
  • Cost Management: Overseeing cost accounting functions, including the calculation of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), inventory valuation, and implementing robust cost control and efficiency measures specific to the manufacturing environment.
  • System Integrity: Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and financial accounting systems, and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.

Required Professional Qualifications:

  • Certification: Bachelors degree in Accounting and a recognized professional accounting designation (e.g., ICAN, ICPAN).
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a professional accounting role. Experience within the FMCG, food production, or manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in major ERP/Financial software packages (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, synthesize information, and communicate actionable insights clearly to senior management.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate tax and regulatory frameworks.
