JOB TITLE: INTERNAL AUDITOR

LOCATION: LAGOS

NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME

We are looking for an objective Internal Auditor to add value and improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, and control. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and a sound judgement.

*Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Perform the full audit cycle, including planning, preparation, execution, and reporting for financial, operational, and compliance audits.

  • Assess the effectiveness of internal control systems and risk management practices to identify potential threats, errors, and inefficiencies.

  • Verify that the organization is adhering to internal policies, procedures, and all applicable external laws and regulations.

  • Obtain, analyze, and evaluate accounting documentation, reports, and data to form an objective opinion on the adequacy of the systems being reviewed.

  • Pinpoint control weaknesses, compliance failures, and operational inefficiencies, and propose corrective actions or process improvements to mitigate risk and add value.

  • Document audit findings, conclusions, risks, and recommendations in detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

  • Conduct follow-up audits to monitor the implementation of management's corrective actions and ensure timely and effective resolution of identified issues.

  • Provide support in special audits or investigations, which may include cases of alleged fraud or misconduct.

*Required Skills and Qualifications*

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in internal auditing.

  • Proficiency in audit software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

  • Attention to detail, excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, integrity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
