Job Title: Accountant

An esteemed transportation Company based in Lagos, with branches spanning Nigeria and the west coast, is seeking young and skilled Accountant to become part of their team

Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the Management and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

· Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures

· Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions

· Follow up with the Managers to ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and recovery of cash

· maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash

· Reconcile bank and investment accounts

· Present weekly and monthly financial reports to Management

· Use the financial data presented to forecast trends in the business and advise Management accordingly

· Prepare the annual budget in consultation with the appropriate persons

· Assist the Head of Finance to provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual projects

Candidate Profile

· Professionally qualified and practicing Accountant with at least 7-10 years post-qualification experience.

· Proficient in the use of accounting/Financial packages.

· Competencies for financial management:

· Preference will be given to applicants who have prior experience with QuickBooks.

· Applicant should possess professional qualifications

· Prior experience in the logistics industry is an added advantage
