HIRING – Accountant (Grant Financing)

Location: Ogun State (Agbara)

Work Schedule: Onsite

Compensation: Base Pay is N500k monthly gross + other benefits

Our client is a leading Agro-Allied Company located in Agbara Ogun State.

The Company is seeking to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant, Grant Financing, who will be responsible for managing all financial activities, ensuring full compliance with grant conditions, budgeting standards, financial reporting requirements, and organizational policies.

The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience working with grants, NGOs, development partners, or similar funding structures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial reporting processes, including preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records for all grant-funded activities.
  • Ensure proper allocation and tracking of project expenses in line with donor guidelines.
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and donors.
  • Reconcile grant accounts and ensure that expenses align with approved budgets.
  • Support audits by providing appropriate documentation, explanations, and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant budgets and cost projections for new and ongoing projects.
  • Monitor budget utilization and alert management of potential variances or financial risks.
  • Ensure all grant expenditures meet donor compliance requirements and internal financial standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all grant-related financial transactions.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard grant funds.
  • Process invoices, payment requests, expense retirements, and procurement documentation in line with grant rules.
  • Support cash flow management and forecast financial needs for project implementation.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide financial insights to support effective decision-making.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or in any related field.
  • 4-5 years' experience as an accountant, with at least 2 years in grant or donor-funded project financial management.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is a must.
  • Strong understanding of grant compliance, donor regulations, and financial best practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar).
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
