Job Title: Cassava Supervisor
Location: Ekiti State, Nigeria
Reports to: Head, Cassava Farm / MD–CEO
Direct Reports: Block Farmers
Salary: #150,000
Role Summary
We are seeking a practical, hands-on Cassava Supervisor to manage day-to-day farm operations and supervise block farmers. The role focuses on delivering quality yield, cost efficiency, safety compliance, and effective people management across cassava farm operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all farm activities: land preparation, planting, spraying, weeding, harvesting, and stem cutting.
- Plan weekly and monthly farm programs with the Head of Cassava Farm and Agronomist.
- Supervise workers and block farmers, enforcing Good Agronomic Practices (GAP).
- Assign tasks related to soil tilling, fertilization, irrigation, and machinery use.
- Coordinate harvesting and ensure produce meets required quality and quantity standards.
- Train and retrain staff, block farmers, and community farmers.
- Liaise with host communities and farmers' cooperatives.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- School Leaving Certificate, ND/HND, or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant farming experience.
- Strong knowledge of crop and soil science.
- Good supervisory and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
