Our client, a rapidly expanding organisation within the agricultural value chain, is seeking a Gender Specialist to champion gender inclusion, integrate gender-sensitive strategies across programs and operations, and support the organisation's mission of empowering rural communities. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, analytical, and passionate about gender equity, particularly within agriculture, rural livelihoods, and community development.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support the development and implementation of gender-responsive activities and assist in adapting organisational policies and frameworks to promote inclusion and equitable participation.

· Assist in conducting basic gender assessments, field observations, interviews, and desk reviews to help identify barriers, opportunities, and gender dynamics in target communities and value chains.

· Help integrate gender considerations into project plans by preparing supporting documents, checklists, and summaries for review by senior gender staff.

· Provide administrative and coordination support during gender mainstreaming activities, safeguarding initiatives, and community engagement sessions.

· Assist in organising gender-focused trainings, workshops, and capacity-building sessions by preparing materials, taking minutes, and documenting participation.

· Work with the M&E team to collect and organise gender-related data, update tracking sheets, and support reporting for project indicators.

· Draft simple reports, meeting notes, case stories, and initial versions of gender activity summaries under supervision.

· Participate in field visits, project reviews, and internal learning sessions to understand gender integration in program delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Agriculture & Rural Development, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in gender programming, women's empowerment, social inclusion, development/humanitarian work, or community-driven initiatives.
  • Understanding of gender frameworks, safeguarding policies, and intersectional analysis.
  • Experience working with rural communities, agricultural systems, or value chain interventions is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills; ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
