Join Safera Africa, a fast-rising, trauma-informed, AI-powered platform designed to support women across Africa facing Technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).

We're building safe, anonymous spaces for women and girls survivors to report harm, access resources, and get help, and we need a Data Analyst (Volunteer) to help us turn numbers into insights that make our platform smarter, safer, and more effective.

About Safera

Safera is an AI- powered trauma- informed platform being developed to provide safe, trauma-informed digital support for women and girls experiencing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV). Through a compassionate AI-powered chatbot, survivors can start a safe conversation, be heard, and access guidance and pathways to help. 

Role Overview

We're looking for a
volunteer Data Analyst

to support the development of Safera's chatbot, ensuring it is trauma-informed, ethical, and grounded in real data. You will work closely with our research and design team to collect, analyse, and interpret data that helps shape how Safera understands and responds to users safely and empathetically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design of data collection and structuring processes for chatbot development.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., language patterns, user feedback) to inform trauma-sensitive responses.
  • Help build or refine datasets that reflect context-specific experiences (African contexts).
  • Work with developers to align data insights with ethical and safeguarding principles.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience or strong interest in data analysis, data science, or research.
  • Have basic experience with tools like Excel, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
  • Are comfortable with data cleaning and interpretation.
  • Have a curious, analytical mindset and can spot trends in messy data.
  • Are passionate about social impact, digital safety, and women's empowerment.
  • Can commit
    7–10 hours weekly

as part of a remote volunteer team.
