About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep C#/.NET expertise to build robust, scalable systems powering millions of daily betting transactions. You'll design high-performance microservices, real-time data processing systems, and mission-critical APIs that form the backbone of our betting platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable microservices using .NET Core 8+
  • Develop high-throughput APIs handling 100K+ requests per second
  • Implement real-time betting engines and odds calculation systems
  • Build event-driven architectures using CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns
  • Optimize database performance for millions of daily transactions
  • Integrate payment gateways and wallet management systems
  • Implement WebSocket servers for real-time data streaming
  • Design distributed systems with fault tolerance and auto-recovery
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
  • Debug and resolve complex production issues
  • Mentor junior developers and lead code reviews
  • Establish backend development best practices

Requirements

  • 6+ years backend development experience
  • 4+ years deep expertise in C# and .NET Core
  • Strong SQL and database design skills (SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
  • Microservices architecture experience
  • RESTful API design and implementation
  • Message queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar)
  • Redis or similar caching solutions
  • Distributed systems and eventual consistency understanding
  • Async/await programming patterns
  • Git version control proficiency
  • Based in Lagos or willing to relocate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Betting/gaming/fintech industry experience
  • AWS cloud services experience (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS)
  • DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • SignalR for real-time communications
  • Event streaming and CQRS implementation
  • Performance tuning and optimization at scale
  • NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • Payment processing systems experience

Technical Environment

  • .NET Core 8, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core
  • SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB
  • RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS for messaging
  • Docker, AWS ECS for containerization
  • GitHub Actions for CI/CD
