Microbiologist

Key Responsibilities· Microbial Testing:o Conduct microbiological tests on raw materials, in -process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.o Monitor and maintain accurate records of microbiological test results and trends.· Quality Control:o Collaborate with the Quality Control team to implement and enforce food safety standards.o Perform routine testing for pathogens, spoilage organisms, and allergens in products and raw materials.· Hygiene and Sanitation:o Oversee and perform regular environmental monitoring of the production areas to ensure compliance with sanitation and hygiene protocols.o Conduct microbiological analysis of water, air, and surfaces in the manufacturing facility to prevent contamination.· Research and Development:o Support product development and innovation by conducting microbiological research to improve food preservation techniques, shelf life, and safety.o Collaborate with R&D teams to troubleshoot microbiological issues and propose corrective actions.· Compliance:o Ensure that all microbiological activities adhere to local and international food safety regulations and industry best practices.o Prepare and submit reports on microbiological findings to regulatory bodies when required. RequirementsRequirements· Education: HND or bachelor's degree in microbiology, Food Science, or a related field.· Experience: Minimum of 2 -3 years in a microbiology or food safety role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.· Skills: Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, laboratory equipment, and food safety regulations. Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.· Location: Must be willing to work in Idanre, Ondo State.
