Job Purpose:

To carry out routine electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in the DRI plant to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, VFDs, and lighting systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical circuits, control panels, and power systems.
• Inspect and test electrical equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance with safety standards.
• Assist engineers in installation, calibration, and commissioning of electrical systems and new equipment.
• Maintain proper documentation of maintenance work, test readings, and spares usage.
• Follow standard operating procedures and adhere strictly to lockout/tagout and permit-to-work systems.
• Coordinate with operations and mechanical teams to minimize downtime during maintenance.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure safe working practices in all assigned areas.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Ordinary National Diploma (ND), HND, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within DRI, Steel, Cement, or other heavy process industries.
• Sound knowledge of LT/HT systems, motor controls, and industrial wiring.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and use testing instruments.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and safety awareness skills.
