Role Purpose
The
Finance Officer
ensures the integrity of Pakam's financial operations, supporting the Finance and Administration Lead in managing accounting, budgeting, and compliance processes. The role maintains accurate financial records, supports fundraising and investor reporting, ensures timely collector payouts, and strengthens Pakam's accountability framework within the
waste-fintech
ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Management & Planning
- Maintain and update all financial records in compliance with accounting standards.
- Support budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and cost control.
- Generate periodic financial reports and dashboards for management and investors.
- Assist in financial forecasting and scenario planning.
B. Accounting Operations
- Process daily payments, collections, and reconciliations through the Pakam platform.
- Oversee timely and accurate
collector payout
execution and reporting. - Manage petty cash and expense reimbursement processes.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits and due diligence.
C. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure all statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, Pension, Withholding Tax) are completed on schedule.
- Implement internal financial controls to prevent errors and fraud.
- Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
D. Administration & HR Support
- Support payroll processing, benefits management, and HR documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions tied to staff and vendors.
- Provide administrative assistance to ensure efficient office operations.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong accounting and financial management skills.
- Sound knowledge of tax and regulatory compliance.
- Analytical ability and attention to financial data integrity.
- High ethical standards and personal accountability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Excel).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- ICAN/ACCA certification (or in progress) preferred.
- Minimum of
3 years relevant experience
in financial operations, preferably in fintech, environmental services, or development finance.
