Reports To: Senior Accountant / Managing Principal  Job Summary:The Accounting Associate plays a critical role insupporting financial operations by handling accounting tasks with increasingcomplexity. This role bridges the gap between junior and senior accountingpositions, allowing for professional growth while contributing to key financialprocesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financialrecords, assisting with reconciliations, reviewing transactions, and ensuringcompliance with relevant regulations. Over time, they will be expected to takeon more responsibilities and develop into a senior accounting position.  ​Key Responsibilities: ​1. General Accounting & Financial Reporting - Prepare and post journal entries for month -end andyear -end closing.  - Assist in preparing financial statements and managementreports.  - Support the reconciliation of general ledger accounts,including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.  - Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliancewith company policies.   2. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting - Assist in preparing VAT, PAYE, and withholding taxreturns.  - Ensure tax deductions and remittances are correctlyprocessed and filed on time.  - Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuringcompliance in financial transactions.   3. Accounts Payable & Receivable - Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring accurateclassification and approvals.  - Assist in customer invoicing and collections to optimizecash flow.  - Review vendor and customer accounts to ensure accuracy andtimely resolution of discrepancies.   4. Internal Controls & Process Improvement - Assist in developing and enforcing financial policies andinternal controls.  - Participate in internal audits and recommend processimprovements.  - Identify discrepancies and work proactively to resolve them them.  5. Client and Team Collaboration - Work closely with clients to ensure proper documentationand financial reporting.  - Collaborate with senior accountants and finance managerson financial planning and analysis.  - Provide mentorship and support to junior accounting staffwhen needed.  ​ 6. Software & System Use - Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate financialrecords.  - Assist in system transitions and upgrades whereapplicable.  - Maintain proficiency in relevant accounting tools andtechnology. RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relatedfield. Part -qualified or actively pursuing professionalaccounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, ICAN) preferred. 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in aprofessional services or corporate finance environment. Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, andtax compliance. Proficiency in accounting software (Zoho Books,QuickBooks, or similar). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage timeeffectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to learn and grow into a senior accountingrole. High level of integrity and professional ethics.  BenefitsHybrid work environment tailored to your needs.Professional growth with exposure to complex client portfolios.Regular training sessions to stay updated on accounting standards and tools.Performance -based incentives and transparent career progression.Paid leave and recognition for exceptional performance. N.B: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
