The Deputy National Director
(DND) supports the National Director in providing spiritual, strategic, and operational leadership for Youth for Christ Nigeria. The role exists to ensure effective implementation of YFC Nigeria's vision, mission, and strategic priorities across programs, States/Centres, and partnerships. The DND acts on behalf of the National Director when required and plays a key role in strengthening systems, staff capacity, program impact, and stakeholder relationships nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
1.
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development
Support the National Director in translating YFC Nigeria's vision, mission, and strategic plan into actionable programs and measurable outcomes.

Participate in national strategic planning, annual work planning, and performance reviews.

Provide leadership in strengthening organizational systems, structures, and policies.

Lead or co-lead special national initiatives and strategic projects as assigned.

2.
Program Oversight & Ministry Effectiveness
Provide oversight and coordination for national programs, ensuring alignment with YFC's core values and ministry focus.

Monitor program quality, innovation, and impact across States and Centres.

Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of youth outreach, discipleship, leadership development, and capacity-building programs.

Ensure programs are contextually relevant and biblically grounded.

3.
Staff Leadership & Capacity Building
Provide direct supervision and mentoring to assigned staff and Centre leaders.

Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of staff and key volunteers.

Foster a healthy organizational culture characterized by integrity, accountability, teamwork, and spiritual growth.

Support performance management processes and staff welfare initiatives.

4.
Operational Management
Assist in overseeing day-to-day national office operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Support budget development, financial accountability, and resource stewardship in collaboration with finance staff.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards.

Step in to manage national operations in the absence of the National Director when required.

5.
Partnership Development & Representation
Represent YFC Nigeria at national and Regional meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements as delegated.

Support relationship-building with churches, schools, donors, government agencies, corporate partners, and international YFC bodies.

Personally engage in fundraising for the ministry through personal contacts and networks.

Participate in other fundraising initiatives, proposal development, and donor reporting when required.

6.
Spiritual Leadership & Christian Witness
Model a Christ-centered lifestyle and servant leadership in line with YFC's Statement of Faith.

Provide spiritual leadership, mentoring, and encouragement to staff and volunteers.

Promote prayer, discipleship, and spiritual formation across the organization.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Education, Theology, Development Studies, Management).

A Master's degree is an added advantage.

Experience
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in youth ministry, missions, nonprofit management, or a related field.

Proven experience in organizational leadership, program management, and team supervision.

Experience working with national or multi-regional organizations is highly desirable.

Excellent communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal) skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead diverse teams.

Financial and operational management competence.

Strong relational, networking, and partnership-building skills.

High level of integrity, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity.

Personal & Spiritual Requirements
A committed, practicing Christian, actively serving in a local church, with a clear testimony and alignment with Youth for Christ's mission, values, and Statement of Faith.

Demonstrated passion for youth evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development.

Strong sense of calling to Christian youth ministry and service.

Working Conditions
Full-time position.

Requires regular travel within Nigeria and occasional international travel.

Flexible work hours, including weekends and evenings, as ministry demands.
