Position Overview

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the organization. This role ensures the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of strong financial controls. The Financial Controller provides strategic financial insights, supports business planning, and contributes to the overall financial health and performance of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial performance, variances, trends, and KPIs to support strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP or relevant accounting standards.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the budgeting process, including annual budget planning and periodic re-forecasting.
  • Collaborate with department heads to track performance against budgets.
  • Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business planning.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate external and internal audits and manage audit findings.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity needs.
  • Oversee banking relationships, payments, and investments.
  • Recommend strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce financial risk.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor finance team members.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide insights for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and financial outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • CPA/ACCA/CMA or similar certification is highly desirable.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including managerial responsibility.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software tools.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis tools.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
