Creative Designer – Laser Operator (Portfolio of relevant work - compulsory) include link to your page. This is a full-time on-site role for a Creative Designer – Laser Operator, located in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Creative Designer – Laser Operator will interpret concepts and ideas into clean, scalable vector files optimized for use with a laser cutter. Projects will include family name plaques, commemorative and corporate plaques, and creative designs for wood, acrylic, and other substrates. You'll turn customer photos and ideas into elegant engraved designs, ready for production and packaging. The professional will also be responsible for creating website banners, product flyers, newsletters, and social media graphics and collaborating with team members to ensure designs align with the brand's vision and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Work from briefs, sketches, or verbal concepts to create vector-based artwork ready for engraving.
• Design layouts for personalized family name plaques and other customized items, incorporating text, icons, and decorative elements.
• Prepare laser-compatible file formats (primarily SVG, PNG, PDF, and AI) with clear engraving and cut lines.
• Ensure designs are scalable and visually balanced across different substrates and plaque sizes
• Incorporate branding elements, client-provided logos, and optional editable text areas where required
• Revise and finalize designs based on feedback and project needs
• Maintain brand consistency in designing, website images rendering, social media graphics, newsletters, etc.
• Operate the laser machine and ensure optimal engraving results
• Perform light machine maintenance, cleaning, and quality control
• Responsible and self-motivated for day-to-day creative projects, adhering to production and internal deadlines
• Consistently come up with new design ideas of relatable graphics for products
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Amend designs after feedback
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing
• Capability to deliver brilliant creative ideas and show amazing attention to detail
• Collaborate via email, chat, or cloud-based tools (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
• Photograph and document finished products for marketing or portfolio

Requirements:

• Minimum of an HND or Bachelors in Graphic Design, Fine Art, or any other relevant subject
• Experience working with laser engraving businesses or product personalization
• Experience in engraving, signage, or print production a plus
• A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
• Basic understanding of how different substrates interact with laser engraving
• Ability to create reusable design templates for faster customization
• 3D mockup skills (optional, for product previews)
• Proven experience as a graphics artist
• Strong proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Inkscape, or CorelDRAW
• Understanding of laser cutting/engraving constraints and line settings (cut vs score vs engrave)
• Ability to prepare clean, layered SVGs with proper stroke weights, vector paths, and alignment
• A good eye for typographic layout, spacing, and symmetry in plaque design
• Experience working with design for wood, acrylic, and metal surfaces is a plus
• Ability to follow brand guidelines and aesthetic preferences
