About the Role

  • GrowthBoosters is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Compliance Officer with a strong accounting background to support our financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance obligations.
  • The ideal candidate has hands-on experience preparing statutory filings, managing financial documentation, and liaising with regulators.
  • This role is central to ensuring that GrowthBoosters remains fully compliant with all applicable laws, reporting standards, and regulatory frameworks governing crowdfunding and digital financial services.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Filings:

  • Prepare, review, and submit statutory returns and regulatory filings (e.g., tax returns, CAC filings, financial statements, compliance schedules).
  • Assist with documentation required for SEC, FIRS, and other regulators when applicable.
  • Maintain a compliance calendar to ensure timely filings and renewals (licenses, annual returns, taxes, regulatory reports).

Financial Documentation & Controls:

  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, reconciliations, and internal accounting documentation.
  • Maintain orderly records of financial transactions, invoices, receipts, and compliance-related correspondence.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure financial integrity and audit readiness.

Regulator Engagement & Support:

  • Communicate and follow up with regulators and external auditors, ensuring timely submission of documents and responses.
  • Support regulatory audits, inspections, and compliance reviews by preparing required files and documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in compliance requirements affecting fintech, investments, and SME financing.

Risk & Governance Support:

  • Assist in drafting compliance policies, SOPs, and internal guidelines.
  • Help monitor adherence to internal processes across departments.
  • Flag potential compliance gaps or risks and escalate appropriately.

General Administrative Compliance Support:

  • Maintain secure and well-organized compliance files, registers, and tracking systems.
  • Support the Business Development and Operations teams with compliance-related guidance where needed.
  • Prepare summary reports for management on compliance status and outstanding obligations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience, preferably with exposure to compliance or audit.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory returns, tax filings, and regulatory documentation.
  • Experience dealing with government agencies, regulators, or auditors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and professional conduct in regulatory engagement.
  • High integrity, accountability, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Preference for SEC sponsored individuals.
  • Background: Accounting / Finance (familiar with compliance filings and regulatory engagement).
