Job Description: Business Strategist (Events Company)
Job Summary
The Business Strategist will play a key role in shaping and driving the company's mid-to-long-term strategic direction. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, market foresight, and strong leadership to identify new growth opportunities, maximize profitability, and ensure competitiveness in the global events industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution
• Lead the annual and long-term strategic planning cycle, coordinating input across departments (Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance).
• Analyze global market trends, competitor strategies, and technological disruptions to identify threats and opportunities.
• Develop and model new business concepts, revenue streams, and market entry strategies (e.g., virtual/hybrid events, geographic expansion, niche verticals).
• Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable plans and measurable KPIs for departmental leaders.
• Oversee execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring delivery within budget, on time, and to expected outcomes.
• Implement feedback mechanisms and pivot strategies as required by changing market conditions.
- Financial & Business Model Optimization
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis of event portfolios and business units to identify efficiencies and revenue growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain complex financial models for forecasting, scenario planning, and investment evaluation (M&A, partnerships, capital projects).
• Recommend pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness.
• Explore innovative business models to leverage existing assets and experience in new, profitable ways.
- Market Intelligence & Risk Mitigation
• Establish a competitive intelligence framework to track industry trends and rival activities.
• Conduct PESTEL analyses on target markets to proactively manage risks.
• Recommend countermeasures for regulatory, geopolitical, and economic risks.
• Deliver clear, data-driven strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the Board.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication
• Act as the central coordinator for strategic projects, aligning department activities with corporate goals.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and forward-thinking across the organization.
• Develop clear communication materials for strategy updates to staff, investors, and partners.
• Mentor teams on strategic planning methodologies and critical thinking.
Key Requirements
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or similar high-level role.
• Experience within the international events, media, or related B2B/B2C services industries is advantageous.

• Analytical Excellence: Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
• Financial Acumen: Strong proficiency in modeling, valuation, and performance metrics (ROI, IRR, etc.).
• Strategic Vision: Proven ability to anticipate future market needs and competitive shifts.
• Communication: Strong presentation and influencing skills at C-level and Board level.
• Global Mindset: Experience operating across international markets and navigating cultural and regulatory differences.
