Our platform integrates geospatial technology, property verification workflows, mapping services, user analytics, and marketplace capability to give buyers, renters, and agents full transparency and access to accurate real estate information.

We are expanding our engineering team and looking for a highly skilled
Senior Software Developer
who can architect, build, and scale our backend and frontend systems.

Role Overview

You will lead development across our
Django REST API
,
frontend
, and integration with
mapping, payments, analytics
, and
AI-assisted property verification workflows
. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-performance, reliable, and scalable solutions.

This is a senior role for someone who understands both
backend depth
and
frontend structure
, and can independently drive releases, optimize performance, and mentor junior developers.

Key Responsibilities
Backend (Django + DRF)

• Architect, develop, and optimize Django REST APIs powering the platform.
• Improve database design, indexing, performance, and query optimization.
• Build new property listing features, map integrations, analytics endpoints, and user workflows.
• Maintain and enhance authentication, authorization, and user session systems.
• Integrate external services: Paystack, Clarity, Google APIs, Map services, Cloud storage.
• Implement caching, rate-limiting, pagination, and performance tuning.
• Write clean, testable, scalable code with high-quality unit tests.

Frontend + TypeScript)

• Build responsive, high-performance UI components using and Chakra UI.
• Maintain and extend React Query caching, data fetching, and state patterns.
• Improve Lighthouse performance, SEO, and Core Web Vitals for the platform.
• Collaborate with the design team to ship pixel-perfect feature implementations.

DevOps & Infrastructure

• Manage deployments on Vercel and backend hosting environments (Render/Railway/AWS).
• Improve system observability, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
• Implement CI/CD best practices.

Team & Leadership

• Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices across the engineering team.
• Participate in sprint planning, product discussions, and architectural decisions.
• Review code, maintain documentation, and enforce engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience as a software engineer.
• Strong expertise with
  Python, Django, Django REST Framework
  .
• Strong expertise with
  React, , TypeScript
  .
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience with
  Google Maps, Mapbox, or OpenStreetMap SDKs
  .
• Experience integrating payment systems (Paystack, Stripe, etc.).
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployments.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to think in systems.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with geospatial databases (PostGIS).
• Experience with image processing, Cloudinary, or S3.
• Experience with analytics platforms (Clarity, GA4).
• AI/ML exposure (classification models for property verification).
• Experience scaling high-traffic consumer applications.
