1. FFB Sourcing Strategy

  • Develop and implement an effective FFB sourcing strategy aligned with mill capacity, production targets, and business objectives. 
  • Identify and develop reliable sources of FFB from plantations, estates, aggregators, traders, and independent producers. 
  • Continuously assess the local FFB supply market, including availability, pricing trends, seasonality, and competitor activities. 
  • Build a robust and sustainable external FFB supplier network across relevant sourcing locations. 

2. Procurement & Commercial Management

  • Lead negotiations with FFB suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms. 
  • Establish appropriate supplier agreements, purchase arrangements, and commercial frameworks. 
  • Evaluate the financial impact of sourcing decisions, including transportation, quality deductions, logistics costs, and other associated costs. 
  • Ensure procurement activities deliver optimal value while maintaining required quality and supply volumes. 

3. Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key FFB suppliers and strategic sourcing partners. 
  • Develop supplier performance management mechanisms covering volume, quality, pricing, reliability, and compliance. 
  • Identify and resolve supplier-related issues promptly to maintain uninterrupted FFB supply. 

4. Mill Supply & Capacity Optimization

  • Work closely with Mill Operations to understand daily, weekly, and monthly FFB requirements. 
  • Monitor actual FFB intake against planned requirements and take corrective action where supply gaps arise. 
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely movement and delivery of purchased FFB to the mill. 

5. Quality Management

  • Ensure purchased FFB meets the company's required quality standards. 
  • Monitor key quality parameters, including ripeness, freshness, contamination, and foreign materials. 
  • Work with mill and quality teams to investigate supplier quality issues and implement corrective actions. 
  • Monitor rejection rates and quality-related deductions to improve overall procurement performance. 

6. Market Intelligence & Pricing

  • Monitor local and regional FFB market prices and competitor buying activities. 
  • Provide management with regular intelligence on market movements, supply availability, and pricing outlook. 

8. Compliance, Controls & Governance

  • Ensure all FFB procurement activities comply with company policies, approved procurement procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of supplier onboarding, purchases, pricing, contracts, and transactions. 
  • Implement appropriate controls to minimize procurement fraud, price manipulation, conflict of interest, and supply-related risks. 
  • Work closely with Finance, Internal Audit, Legal, and Operations to ensure transparency and proper governance. 

9. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Prepare regular reports on FFB sourcing volumes, prices, supplier performance, mill utilization, and procurement costs. 
  • Track sourcing KPIs and provide management with actionable recommendations. 
  • Monitor budget performance and identify opportunities for cost savings. 
  • Provide forecasts of FFB availability and expected procurement requirements. 
  • Maintain accurate procurement and supplier databases. 


  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture,  Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Professional certification in Procurement/Supply Chain or relevant agricultural discipline is an advantage. 
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience, with significant experience in FFB sourcing, palm oil, agricultural commodities, procurement, or plantation operations. Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial/senior sourcing or procurement position
  • Strong knowledge of the palm oil value chain and FFB procurement ecosystem
  • Demonstrated experience managing external suppliers and negotiating commercial agreements. 
  • Experience working with palm oil mills, plantations, aggregators, traders, or independent FFB suppliers is highly desirable.
