• Select appropriate microcontrollers, sensors, modules, power components and other hardware.
• Build and test prototypes using development boards, breadboards and PCBs.
• Work with components such as buttons, LEDs, displays, sensors, buzzers, NFC/RFID and other peripherals.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Help transition successful prototypes into reliable, repeatable products. Embedded Systems:
• Develop firmware for microcontroller-based devices, particularly ESP32-class platforms.
• Write reliable device logic and event-handling systems.
• Interface with sensors and other electronic components.
• Implement device configuration and identification.
• Handle errors, reconnection, retries and unexpected device behaviour.
• Debug hardware and firmware issues. IoT & Connectivity:
• Build devices that communicate reliably over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE and other appropriate technologies.
• Integrate devices with APIs and cloud services.
• Work with HTTP/REST APIs and, where appropriate, MQTT or similar communication protocols.
• Design systems that can handle temporary connectivity problems.
• Implement appropriate local data handling and synchronization where required. Software Integration:
• Connect hardware devices to BizOPD and its supporting software systems.
• Work with software engineers to define device events, APIs and data structures.
• Ensure information generated by physical devices can be reliably communicated to the software platform.
• Troubleshoot issues across the hardware, network and software layers. Testing & Reliability:
• Test hardware and firmware extensively before deployment.
• Identify and resolve hardware, firmware, connectivity and integration issues.
• Test devices under real-world conditions.
• Investigate failures and improve system reliability.
• Document technical issues, testing procedures and solutions. Product Development:
