SPRAY — Venture Lead, Nigeria Project-based / Part-time | Lagos, Nigeria About SPRAY SPRAY is building a new commerce layer for Africa, starting in Nigeria. We allow anyone ; creators, entrepreneurs, restaurants, service providers, artists, SMEs and everyday sellers to build a beautiful mobile business, sell products, services and experiences, accept payments, manage orders and distribute their business through social platforms and WhatsApp. We’re currently moving from product development into payments integration, pilot partnerships and market launch. We’re looking for someone in Lagos who can help carry that process locally. The Role This is not a traditional full-time corporate position. We’re looking for a hands-on project/venture lead who can sit between our founders, developers, designers and Nigerian ecosystem and make things move. One day you may be reviewing a user flow with a developer. The next, joining a meeting with a payment company or bank. Another day, helping us onboard a fashion brand, creator or restaurant for one of our first SPRAY stores. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you need to understand technology well enough to manage engineers. You don’t need to be a designer, but you need to understand good UI/UX and consumer products. You don’t need to come from banking, but you need to be comfortable sitting with banks, fintechs and payment companies and understanding what SPRAY needs from them. And importantly, you need to understand Lagos culture and how young Nigerians actually buy, sell and build businesses online. What you’ll own Product: Follow the development roadmap, coordinate with developers, test builds, identify bugs, challenge UX decisions and make sure what gets designed actually gets shipped. Payments: Help manage conversations and integrations with banks, PSPs and fintech partners ; collections, virtual accounts, payouts, KYC, settlement and future wallet functionality. Pilot: Help us build and launch our first 5–30 flagship SPRAY stores across creators, fashion, food, beauty, services, experiences and culture. Go-to-market: Help build our first database of 500 potential partners/sellers, coordinate outreach, collect feedback and prepare them for launch. Partnerships: Represent SPRAY locally when necessary with creators, businesses, agencies, logistics companies, financial institutions and strategic partners. Execution: Keep one master roadmap, chase deliverables, organize meetings, document decisions and make sure founders always know what’s done, blocked and next. Who we’re looking for Someone around the intersection of tech + product + culture + execution. Ideally you’ve worked around a startup, fintech, consumer app, agency, product studio or technology company. You understand basic APIs, dashboards, payment flows and software development without necessarily writing code yourself. You have a strong eye for digital products and UI/UX. But we’re equally interested in energy, intelligence and resourcefulness. You should be the type of person who receives a problem on Monday and comes back Wednesday with three possible solutions, two introductions and a recommendation. Strong communication is essential. You should be comfortable talking to a developer in the morning, a bank executive in the afternoon and a creator that evening. Being genuinely connected to Lagos’s technology, creative, business and emerging consumer ecosystem is a major advantage. What success looks like During the initial project, we want this person to help us get from: Product → Infrastructure → 5 flagship stores → Payment integration → Partnerships → First 500 seller pipeline → Launch readiness. This is much more project management + venture building than traditional employment. We care about outcomes, not sitting in an office from 9–5. Engagement Initial engagement: 3–6 months, project-based, with the possibility of becoming a larger leadership role as SPRAY grows.
