Role Description The Head of Credit & Marketing is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for leading the bank’s credit operations and marketing initiatives. This position oversees the development and implementation of credit policies, credit risk assessment frameworks, and portfolio management strategies to ensure a healthy and compliant loan book. The role includes supervising the credit team, approving key credit decisions, monitoring loan performance, and driving recovery strategies where necessary. In addition, the Head of Credit & Marketing will plan and execute marketing campaigns, develop customer acquisition and retention strategies, and strengthen the bank’s brand presence in target markets. The individual will collaborate with senior management to align credit and marketing activities with overall business objectives, provide regular performance reports, and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal s tandards. Qualifications Strong expertise in Credit Management and Credit Risk Management, with experience in setting and enforcing credit policies and procedures. Proficiency in Finance and Portfolio Management, including monitoring loan performance, optimizing portfolio quality, and managing financial metrics. Advanced Analytical Skills for assessing creditworthiness, interpreting financial data, and making data-driven decisions. Experience in marketing strategy and execution within financial services, including customer acquisition, retention, and brand positioning. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; a relevant postgraduate or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, risk management certification) is an advantage. Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to mentor staff and coordinate cross-functional initiatives. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with strong ethical standards and attention to regulatory compliance. Previous experience in microfinance or retail banking in Nigeria, particularly within Lagos, is highly beneficial.
