Job description
s & requirements We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Design and Estimation to join our team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between technical excellence and commercial viability. The Head of Design & Estimation will spearhead the company's technical department, overseeing the development of comprehensive MEP designs and precision-led cost estimations. The successful candidate will ensure that all technical and commercial submissions are competitive, accurate, and compliant with international engineering standards. Responsibilities Design Leadership: Lead and mentor the design team in developing robust systems for HVAC (VRF/Chilled Water), Fire Protection, Plumbing and Electrical designs. Estimation & Cost Planning: Oversee the end-to-end Material quantities estimation process, including detailed quantity take-offs. Quality Assurance: Review, vet, and approve all engineering calculations, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure 100% accuracy before final submission. Value Engineering: Champion innovative approaches to optimize MEP system designs by balancing performance, sustainability, and cost efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to propose alternative materials, technologies, and design solutions that enhance long-term operational efficiency and deliver measurable client value. Tender Support: Collaborate with the Commercial team to provide technical expertise during high-stakes bidding and tender defense. Qualifications Academic Background: B.
Eng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Engineering (COREN registration is an added advantage).

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience in MEP design and estimation, with a strong exposure to HVAC systems (VRF and Chilled water), Plumbing, and Fire protection systems. Design skills required: MEP Design, Electrical design, HVAC design skills Technical Expertise: Mastery of AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and specialized HVAC load calculation software (e.g., HAP or Elite). Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses and lead value engineering workshops. Communication: Excellent presentation skills to defend technical designs to clients and stakeholders. <
