About the Company
We are a rapidly growing, profitable Nigerian personal care brand with a loyal customer base and a proven product lineup. Having built a strong direct-to-consumer business, we are now expanding into wholesale and offline distribution nationwide. The company name and full details will be disclosed to shortlisted candidates. The Role You will own and build our offline distribution engine from the ground up. Your job is to get our products stocked, sold, and reordered in bulk through retail outlets, trade markets, and regional distributors across Nigeria. This is a field-heavy, target-driven role for someone who closes deals, not someone who writes reports about them.

Key Responsibilities
Retail & Trade Acquisition
- Identify, pitch, and onboard relevant retail outlets as stockists, working toward aggressive monthly account targets
- Open and grow the brand's presence in major trade markets in Lagos and other regions
- Negotiate and close bulk orders on wholesale terms Distributor & Wholesale Network
- Identify, vet, and sign regional distributors and sub-distributors in key states
- Structure wholesale agreements: order minimums, pricing tiers, payment terms, and territory coverage
- Ensure distributors maintain stock and hit reorder cycles, a signed distributor who doesn't reorder is a failed account Account Management & Sell-Through
- Manage all trade relationships: reorders, issue resolution, and shelf presence
- Train stockists and their staff to sell the products confidently to end customers
- Support in-store visibility and activations that drive sell-through, not just sell-in Revenue Ownership
- Own a monthly wholesale revenue target and report weekly on pipeline, closed accounts, order volumes, and collections
- Track performance by region, channel, and account type, and feed insights back to management
- Manage credit exposure carefully, grow volume without growing bad debt Market Intelligence
- Map the competitive landscape in each market you enter
- Identify and recommend new channels for expansion Requirements
- 3+ years in field sales, trade marketing, or distribution; FMCG, personal care, or beauty strongly preferred
- A verifiable track record of opening retail accounts or signing distributors (you will be asked for specifics)
- Existing relationships in Nigerian retail or trade channels are a major advantage
- Strong negotiation skills and comfort closing deals in markets and shops not just boardrooms
- Self-managing and target-obsessed; you'll operate with high autonomy and be judged on numbers
- Willingness to travel extensively within Lagos and across Nigeria
- Fluency in English; Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa is a plus Compensation
- Base salary + performance commission on wholesale revenue (structure discussed at interview)
- Transport/field allowance for market visits and travel
