Role Description

The Backend AI Integration Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos State, Nigeria. We are building AI-powered software solutions designed to automate complex real-world business processes.

Our ambition is to combine modern AI technologies with reliable software engineering to create solutions that deliver measurable value in real business environments.

We are looking for a Backend/AI Integration Engineer who wants to work at the intersection of AI, backend engineering, automation, and complex business logic.

Your Role

You will work on the backend systems that connect AI capabilities with reliable, production-grade software.

Your role will include designing systems that can process complex information, apply structured logic, integrate with external services, and produce reliable and traceable results.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services
• Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into production systems
• Build reliable data processing pipelines
• Develop APIs and service architectures
• Work with structured and unstructured data
• Design systems that combine AI outputs with deterministic business logic
• Build validation and quality mechanisms
• Develop automated tests
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions
• Collaborate closely with frontend, platform, and AI specialists
• Help transform real-world business problems into scalable software solutions

Technical Skills

Strong experience with at least one of:

• TypeScript/Node.js
• Python
• Java
• C#

And experience with:

• REST APIs
• Relational databases
• Automated testing
• Complex backend systems
• Data processing

Ideally, experience with:

• AI/LLM integrations
• Document Intelligence
• Machine Learning APIs
• Workflow systems
• Rule-based systems
• Event-driven architectures
• Cloud platforms
• Azure
• AI orchestration
• Data pipelines

Your Profile

• Several years of backend development experience
• Experience building production-grade systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Interest in AI and intelligent automation
• Ability to combine probabilistic AI systems with deterministic software components
• Strong understanding of software quality and reliability
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
• Willingness to work across disciplines
