Our fleet base is fast growing and caters to small, medium and large companies across FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), Retail Chains, Agriculture and Pharmaceuticals, across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
JOB SUMMARY
Graduate of any discipline with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Management in General.Proficiency in international documentation for imports / exports, LC, Shipping processes, bill of lading.Must have knowledge of the customs and Excise HS Code and Explanatory notes.The candidate should be very conversant with customs tariff act, clearing and forwarding procedures, and clearance of goods at Airports and Seaports.Good communication skills - oral and written.Relationship Management.Must have appropriate knowledge of inspection agents, Banks, shipping companies, and Terminals.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word)Ability to work independently.Excellent interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Obtain accurate Check List and check all documents to avoid errors, identify missing documents, and/or identify potential issues. Opening of form M / LC Application to import, and NXP to export.Handle timely order execution & documentation like Pre & Post shipment documents.Ensure that all documents called for by authorities are submitted promptly to ensure speedy clearance of goods and orders are correctly recorded in the customs and company's systemsManage customs documentation for clearing and forwarding.Liaise with accredited clearing agent for the clearing of goods at destination Apapa, Tin can island, and airport as the case may be.Liaise with the shipping company on all issues with consignment.Administer import procedures and documentation and effective liaison with Nigerian Customs / Logistics.Manage demurrages, port charges within specified norms.Liaise with Port authorities & customs officials, monitoring compliance to regulatory requirements, and maintaining requisite papers & documents.Get duty assessment in one day after Pre- Arrival Assessment Report PAAR and rotation number is allotted.Organize fast track clearing.Prepare daily progress report and send to Head Office before the close of the business.Manage customs documentation for clearing and forwarding.Exhibit a strong professional knowledge of Airwaybills and Bill of Ladings.Clear consignment within a limited period of time.Ensure that all cleared goods are also cleared from the company's system and are properly recorded for future reference.Administer export procedures and documentation and effective liaison with Nigerian Customs, sales departments, the plant, and Logistics department, etc;Ensure zero detention charges for empty containersPrepare and process import and export documents, including invoices, bills of lading, customs declarations, packing lists, and certificates of origin, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders, such as shipping companies, customs brokers, and government agencies, to ensure timely clearance and delivery of goods.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all import and export activities, including shipment details, documentation, and compliance with regulations.Monitor and report on changes in import and export regulations and policies that may affect the company's operations.Ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed, and that all deadlines and requirements are met.Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to documentation or shipments, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure a satisfactory resolutionAny other assignment that may be given from time to time by superior officers.
