JOB SUMMARY
Requirements, Knowledge and Experience Detail CV, SSCE Required. 1-2 years of experience working experience in a Similar Role Ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel. Commitment to renewing and maintaining knowledge of best practices. Strong interpersonal, and communication skills Fluency in English is required. Must be residing in Abia State and Understand the local context in Abia. Ideally, s/he will have previous experience in working in large-scale emergency programs in insecure and conflict-affected contexts, including remote management. S/he is a problem solver, who is adept in successfully dealing with issues of complexity. S/he is an active listener and contributor, working to create a strong team share ideas and learn. Conscientious with an excellent sense of judgment. Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours. RESPONSIBILITIES
Program / Department Summary Mercy Corps has been present in Nigeria since December 2012, focusing its interventions on adolescent girls’ empowerment, economic development and conflict mitigation. In mid-2014, Mercy Corps has decided to address the rising humanitarian needs among displaced households and vulnerable host communities in the northeast Nigeria and started its humanitarian program. With funding from variety of donors, including OFDA, FFP, EU and ECHO, GIZ, Fpizer the humanitarian program has been focusing on food assistance, non-food items distribution, protection, livelihoods support, WASH and capacity building of humanitarian response actors. All Mercy Corps interventions in Nigeria are implemented in a conflict and gender sensitive manner.General Position Summary The company will provide 2 personnel (cleaners) will be responsible for providing cleaning services as stated in the scope of work and 1 will be based in Abia and 1 in Delta. The cleaners who will work under the direct supervision of the Operation Assistant to ensure general outlook of the office space is maintained in each location. The duties are outlined as follows. ACTIVITY General Interior (Reception, Offices, Conference Room) M W F Remarks Dust furniture surfaces, computers and equipment, file cabinets, 3 days in a week Check and dust wall decors and blinds Daily Clean windows and glass partitions Daily Sweep, mop and sanitize floor Daily Wipe door handles and light switches Daily Dust doors and door frames Daily Damp wipe stair case banisters Daily Empty waste bin & replace liners Daily SBQ Dust furniture surfaces, computers and equipment, file cabinets Daily Wipe door handles and light switches Daily Check and dust vents, high and low corners within reach Daily Dust doors and door frames Daily Sweep, mop and sanitize floors Daily Empty waste bin & replace liners Daily Others Sweep, mop and disinfect floor in security post Daily Dust window, furniture and blinds in security post Daily Empty and wash water dispenser tray Daily Replace water dispenser bottles Mon/Wed Water potted plants Sat. Wash and sanitize all waste bin Mon/Wed Clean wall of office entrance Twice a month Wash drums and refill water weekly Accountability: Reports Directly To: Operation Assistant Works Directly With: Finance, Program and Operation teams.
