Job Details
- Ensure that the facility is fully operational with all utilities in functioning properly.
- Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work and assist with checking installation and servicing building equipment
- Maintain stock levels and parts within budget
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and assist with energy management
- Maintain ongoing communication with contractors, clients, and team
- Carry out daily check on the facility which includes all electrical appliances, furniture and equipment to ensure they are fit for use and to call for repair or maintenance if there is any.
- Carry out daily check on the entire building to ensure it is in best state for use and call for repair or maintenance.
- Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects, while reviewing vendor/contractor invoices and proposals and recommends payment upon receipt of material/completion of work.
- Allocates and manages space between buildings.
- ensures that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.
- Advises businesses on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Keeps a daily record and reports on generator, inverters, plumbing, airconditioning and other electrical and heavy duty equipments within the facility, ensuring that due servicing dates are adhered to to help in extending shelf life of equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
- Manage and handle all vendor contracts, including vendors for various maintenance items, activities, and tasks, with a clear understanding of the vendor market to help manage budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Deals with issues as they arise and treat as a matter of urgency. Gives immediate feedback once resolved or unresolved for further resolutions.
- Submits daily , weekly or monthly reports on all facility maintenance and makes written recommendations for action.
- Oversees building projects, renovations or refurbishments
- Helps businesses to relocate to new offices and to make decisions about leasing where necessary.
- Drafts reports on all facility equipments, furniture, appliances etc every month and makes written recommendations on the ones that need to be replaced or fixed.
- Manage the upkeep of equipment to meet health and safety standards.
- Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
- Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
- Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy under the Department of Human Resources.
- And any other adhoc duties
Minimum qualification
- B.Sc. in any discipline.
- Minimum: 5 year work experience as a Facility Manager or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance tasks for large organizations
- Excellent people skills.
- Excellent organizational and team management skills
- Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job
- Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions.
