Senior Credit Controller

Senior Credit Controller

Join our team as a Senior Credit Controller and play a key role in ensuring the timely collection of customer and withholding tax receivable balances. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective credit policies, providing exceptional customer service, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor customer credit situations and recommend credit limits
  • Develop and implement credit policies to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow
  • Communicate with customers to resolve payment queries and negotiate re-payment plans
  • Ensure timely payment of debts and meet cash and debtor targets
  • Chase overdue invoices and maintain accurate records of the credit control portfolio
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to prevent indebtedness
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and national regulations
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate payment within agreed terms
  • Plan and coordinate monthly debt review meetings
  • Follow up with legal on debt cases
  • Ensure WHT receivables are effectively pursued for recovery
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries
  • Propose write-off of irrecoverable receivables
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as required by management
  • Undertake account reconciliations of complex accounts
  • Ensure monthly reporting deadlines are met
  • Send out monthly client statements/letters
Requirements
  • Minimum of HND/BSc or equivalent in Accounting, Business or Finance related courses
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (ICAN, ACCA, NICA, etc.)
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience
  • Growing through the rank of account positions
  • Self-motivated, self-confident individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills
