Associate Director, Climate

Purpose of the role:

  • The successful candidate will lead our service offerings to the climate and renewable sector across West Africa. The individual will develop projects that deliver on the aspirations of development finance institutions and major institutional donors for climate adaptation/mitigation, and renewable energy. The role holder will travel across West Africa.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • First degree in the Sciences, Engineering, Economics or related field.
  • A post graduate qualification in a relevant field would be essential.
  • At least 15 years' work experience in the international development sector, seven 7 of which must have been focused on climate change or renewable energy programs.
  • Track record of success in writing proposals and winning engagements.
  • Established relationships and networks within development finance institutions and institutional donors with significant climate change portfolios.

Skills and Competences:

  • Good communication written and verbal, numeracy, presentation and analytical skills.
  • IT proficiency, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Team player with leadership capability.
  • Excellent coordination and planning skills
